November 2006
Annual Gem Show
Every year we get in some of the very best gems from around the world.
Come in Saturday November 4th from 10-6, or Sunday November 5th from 12-5
to see some of these very rare and amazing gems!
We have been featured as colored gemstone experts in recent issues of
Modern Jeweler Magazine, educating the jewelry-loving public about new
and rare gems including Sphene, Andesine, Praisiolite, Kornarupine, and
more. You can see some of these unusual gems at our Gem Show November
4th-5th!
All of the gems at our show are available for purchase with ample time
left to create that one-of-a-kind holiday gift. Most custom setting projects
take anywhere from two to six weeks to complete, so we generally recommend
beginning holiday projects in early November. Giving an unusual and creative
piece of jewelry is a gift that can't be beat!
March 2006
Still the best!
The New Jersey Jewelers Association (NJJA) held its annual convention
and design competition Monday, March 20, 2006. The Gem Vault's own Sharon
Curtiss was awarded the first place award for her Yellow Beryl and Green
Tourmaline brooch, and Kelly McCaughey was awarded the People's Choice
Award for her Mali Garnet and Montana Moss Agate brooch. Sharon's piece
will continue on to compete nationally against winners from other states...
Previous to this year, The Gem Vault's Jason Baskin won the NJJA competition
nine years consecutively!
Join our mailing list, and find out how you can enter our own design contest,
and win a $500 Gift Certificate!
The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, the largest industry show in the world
that focuses on gems and minerals, has come and gone! Every year we search
Tucson for the hottest items and the best deals, bringing the industry’s
best home with us.
This years finds include deep rich orange Andesine, fine Blue Zircon (which
were more scarce this year than last), and fine Mali Garnets which are
constantly in dwindling supply.
Rare and unusual gems are our specialty, and this time of year we are
replenished with a diverse inventory of fine gems. Keep an eye out for
our stunning Sphene necklace, designed by Jason Baskin, to be featured
in an upcoming article in Modern Jeweler Magazine.
